The 17-year-old is now through to the second round of the tournament in Paris.

India’s Anahat Singh lost to Siva Subramaniaam of Malaysia in second round of the ongoing British Open Squash tournament on Monday.

The 17-year-old lost the match 10-12, 11-9, 8-11, 7-11.

Rally of Chikmagalur 2025: Maheshwaran N wins in INTSDRC-1 Class

Maheshwaran N, alongside co-driver Prakash Muthusamy, delivered a standout performance in the INTSDRC-1 Class at the Rally of Chikmagalur 2025, to secure a comfortable lead over the field.

The rally, which served as Qualifier Round-1 of the FMSCI Indian National Time Speed Distance Rally Championship (4W) 2025, witnessed over 130 entries competing across eight categories.

Other category winners included A Vinodh (INTSDRC-2), Aparna Pathak (Women’s and State Of Karnataka classes), Vinay Prasanna (Pro Stock), Bhavani Balakrishnan (Couples and Supercar classes), showcasing exceptional skill, coordination, and endurance across a challenging course spread over two days. In the INTSDRC-1 Class, Maheshwaran N and co-driver Prakash Muthusamy set the tone for the season, nearly a full minute ahead of their closest competitors.

Santhosh Kumar V and T. Nagarajan followed in second place, while Ganesh Murthi and Chandrashekar took third. The INTSDRC-2 Class saw a competitive finish, with A Vinodh and N Murugan taking top honors.

Manju Jain and Dinky Varghese secured second, and Rahele Ahmed with Sakayana Kumar. In the Women’s Category, Aparna Pathak and Lalita Gowda dominated the field with over one hour lead. Kshamta and Ammol came in second, followed closely by Vannhree Pathak and Ramu Chandra.

Bengaluru’s Ishaan Madesh (Peregrine Racing), with an all-win record over three rounds and six races, won the title in the senior category at the conclusion of the MECO Meritus Cup karting competition at the COASTT circuit here on Sunday.

Over the weekend which saw second and third rounds of the Meritus Cup being held, Ishaan trumped the field with a performance that saw him win both Sprint races in Round-2 on Saturday and repeat the show in the third and concluding round on Sunday to clinch the drivers championship with a tally of 105 points, well clear of Pune’s Arafath Sheikh (Crest Motorsports) who finished with 81.

Likewise, Chennai’s Eshanth Vengatesan (MSPORT) took the title in the OKJ Junior category with an all-win record in the Super Heat and Final Race this weekend for a tally of 112 points, ahead of team and city-mate Kairav Roberson who finished second in the championship with 97.

Ahlawat finishes T-13 in Austria

Indian golfer Veer Ahlawat played his best round of the week, a four under 66 on the final day, to finish T-13 at the Alpine Austrian Open here.

It was his first top 15 finish of the season. The round of 66 was rather eventful with a double bogey and a closing eagle.

Another Indian golfer, Shubhankar Sharma, missed the halfway cut.

Nicolai Von Dellingshausen of Germany beat countryman Marcel Schneider to win his first DP World Tour title. Von Dellingshausen shot a third 65 in four days and totalled 19-under as Schneider (68) finished two shots behind.

Having started his round on the front nine, the day began with a birdie on the first hole but Ahlawat dropped a shot on the second before dropping a double bogey on the fourth.

Delhi GM Open to begin on June 7

The Delhi GM Open chess tournament, to be played at the Tivoli Gardens, Chhattarpur, from June 7 to 14.

The 21st edition of Delhi GM Open will offer a total prize purse of Rs.1.21 crore, and is expected to feature about 2500 players in three different sections, including 20 Grandmasters.

Indian Super League club Odisha FC on Monday announced that Jerry Mawihmingthanga is leaving the team.

The 28-year-old winger from Mizoram has scored 17 goals in 106 appearances for the Juggernauts.

UTT juniors: Jaipur thumps Pune to go top of the table

Trishal Surapureddy and Shreya Dhar powered Jaipur Patriots to a 7-2 victory over PBG Pune Jaguars in the Dream UTT juniors table tennis tournament at the Eka Arena on Monday.

It was the third victory in as many matches for the Jaipur team, and it was sitting pretty on top of the table with 19 points, having won both its earlier two matches with a 6-3 margin.

With all the eight teams having played three matches each, U Mumba and Dempo Goa followed Jaipur with 16 points.

Kolkata Thunderblades had scored 14 points, while Chennai Lions and Ahmedabad SG Pipers had collected 12 points each. When all the teams compete in five league matches each, the top four will qualify for the semifinals.
