Hitesh Chauhan loses in Junior French Open second round

India’s Hitesh Chauhan lost out to the USA’s Benjamin Willwerth in the Round of 32 at the Junior French Open 2025. The Indian lost 2-6, 6-2, 6-7 (6) to bring his singles campaign to an end.

The 17-year-old and Turkish partner Haydar Cem Gokpinar also went down to Willwerth and Noah Johnston in the men’s doubles Round of 16, losing 1-6, 4-6 in straight sets.

Kho Kho Federation hosts advanced coaches and technical officials course

The Kho Kho Federation of India (KKFI) is hosting an advanced coaches and technical officials course for the international fraternity at the Shree Guru Gobind Singh Tercentenary University, Budhera, for a fortnight.

The course, scheduled till June 15, caters to about 50 coaches and 65 officials in the country, apart from about 20 coaches and officials from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Iran, Australia, England, Korea and Malaysia.

“It is our commitment to prepare a new generation of coaches and technical officials equipped with the tools and knowledge to take kho kho to the next level globally. As the sport integrates science and technology in all dimensions, from mat-based play to the Decision Review System, developing human capital is key to sustaining its global growth,” said the president of KKFI, Sudhanshu Mittal.

UTT Juniors: Dempo Goa Challengers beats PBG Pune Jaguars

Sahil Rawat and Aarya Redkar guided Dempo Goa Challengers to a 7-2 victory over PBG Pune Jaguars in the Dream UTT juniors table tennis tournament at the EKA Arena on Tuesday.

It was the third victory in four matches for Dempo Goa, and it took its tally to 23 points.

Kolkata Thunder Blades also registered its third win in four matches, by beating Dabang Delhi 7-2, and took its tally to 21 points.

Yatharth Gaur becomes first Mini Max Meritus Cup karting champion

Yatharth Gaur of Leapfrog Racing topped the Mini Max class in the third round to become the first champion of the category, which was added to the Meco Meritus Cup Karting competition this year.

Yatharth, the 11-year-old from Faridabad, emerged victorious in the hard-fought season and edged out Chennai’s Rivaan Dev Preetham, who was disqualified in the final race at Coimbatore.

The one point advantage gained in the sixth and final race of the season saw him clinch the honours with 81 points.

Yatharth, who first won a race in the very second round of his debut season in 2023 as a novice, missed 2024 due to an accident and made a successful comeback to karting this year.

India beats Kazakhstan to book CAVA Nations League final spot

India secured a spot in the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Nations League final after beating Kazakhstan in a nail-biting clash in Fergana, Uzbekistan on Tuesday.

The match ended up being a five-set showdown with India winning 26-24, 19-25, 23-25, 25-21 and 15-13.

India will face Iran in the gold medal match on Wednesday while Kazakhstan will face Pakistan in the bronze medal game.
