Tamil Thalaivas has appointed Sanjeev Baliyan as its head coach for the upcoming Season 12 of the Pro Kabaddi League on Friday.
Baliyan, who successfully guided the Jaipur Pink Panthers to victory in PKL Season 9, served as its head coach for the past four seasons. Renowned for his experience and strategic acumen, he is expected to bring fresh ideas and renewed energy to the Thalaivas.
With this appointment, Tamil Thalaivas returns to a traditional coaching structure, comprising a head coach and an assistant coach. The decision comes a day after it parted ways with the former coaches Udayakumar and Cheralathan Dharmaraj.

Commenting on the appointment, CEO Shushen Vashishth said, “As mentioned earlier, we are committed to a fresh start for Season 12. We have implemented several internal changes and believe that the appointment of Sanjeev Baliyan as head coach will bring a new perspective and energy to the team and its players.”
Baliyan is one of the most accomplished coaches in the league, with an impressive record that includes two PKL titles — one with the Jaipur Pink Panthers and another with the Patna Pirates. His tenure with the Pink Panthers was characterised by consistent team performances.
However, Baliyan’s stint with the Pink Panthers came to an end after PKL Season 11, when he was relieved of his duties.
